Abstract

The effects of severe plastic deformation (SPD) on various metals have been studied extensively. Among the various SPD processes, high pressure torsion (HPT) has several advantage such as applicable large strain and strain under high pressure. In the present talk, I will introduce several examples obtained by HPT straining such as strain induced phase transformation under high pressure in Ti and Fe-Mn alloy, and alloying of Cu, Nb, C to produce high strength and high electrical conductivity Cu alloys.
