Preparation of 2D Materials and Their Applications in Electrocatalysis and Optoelectronics

Abstract. Atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) materials are a large family of layered materials possesses very diverse properties, covering metals, semiconductors, superconductors, charge density waves, etc. Furthermore, assemble of different 2D materials into heterostructures will generate even more functionalities, making 2D materials and their heterostructures strong candidates for many applications including electronics and electrocatalysis. Scaled up preparation of high quality 2D materials is the first step towards these applications. In this talk, I will present our recent progress on the scaled up preparation of 2D semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), semimetallic graphene, as well as insulating h-BN. In addition, I will talk about the use these 2D materials for electrocatalysis based applications, with a focus on large current density hydrogen evolution reactions. Finally, I will discuss our recent progress on the applications of 2D materials for optoelectronicsincluding light detecting and modulation.

简介: 

  刘碧录,清华-伯克利深圳学院副教授、博士生导师。他于2006年7月本科毕业于中国科技大学材料化学专业,于2012年1月博士毕业于中科院金属研究所材料学专业,导师为成会明院士、任文才研究员。2012年5月至2016年5月期间,在美国南加州大学电子工程系先后担任博士后、研究助理教授,2016年6月起加入清华-伯克利深圳学院低维材料与器件实验室。他的主要研究方向是碳纳米管、二维材料等低维半导体材料的生长机理、可控制备及在电子和光电子器件、能源转化领域的应用。迄今共发表学术论文60余篇,论文被引用7000余次。
